Stereo Ferment label head, Oreku aka Cayden Mowbray, returns with his second EP, “Disko Alwanzatar” (Alwanzatar translates to "Magic" from the bronze age Anatolian language of Hittite). Drawing from influences of Anatolian folk rock, Lebanese psych funk, and the works of Hi-NRG disco legend Patrick Cowley, Oreku conjures a collection of psyched-out, hypnotic and funky dance floor-geared numbers.
In the track “Dubabi,” Oreku chops up dusty grooves of 70s Lebanese psych funk, layered with dubbed-out synths and four-to-the-floor drums, transforming it into a funky house number.
