Stereo Ferment label head, Oreku aka Cayden Mowbray, returns with his second EP, “Disko Alwanzatar” (Alwanzatar translates to "Magic" from the bronze age Anatolian language of Hittite). Drawing from influences of Anatolian folk rock, Lebanese psych funk, and the works of Hi-NRG disco legend Patrick Cowley, Oreku conjures a collection of psyched-out, hypnotic and funky dance floor-geared numbers.
Opening the EP with “Black Sea Shuffle,” Oreku continues his exploration of Anatolian sounds, where he builds off the acoustic elements of 70s Turkish psych folk with lush cosmic synth riffs, sampled percussion and programmed disco drums.
